MAY Newsletter from The Light GAP

 MAY 4, 2018 NEWSLETTER

What’s HAPPENING  at the Light GAP?

We are excited to share our newsletter format.  We will be sending the news to you about once a month. This month we could really use YOUR help! Our book, The Light GAP: God’s Amazing Presence has been out about a year and a half. We are happy to share that we are always so pleased to hear that people are still finding and sharing our stories. We need a stronger presence on Facebook and Twitter.  If you are on either of these, would you be willing to go there and not only like our page, but share it with people you believe would be interested? It would be a great help to our success.

We loved telling you about our time spent with groups that are interested in discussions around the spiritual topics shared in our book. We are very open to more of these, so spreading the word in your area would be a tremendous help to us!

Terry will be sharing our book and stories in a Retirement village in Holland this month! She was asked to come and speak and we  will be excited to share the experience with you next month! Again, if you know of a retirement village that looks for speakers, please let us know! You can e-mail us through our light gap email addresses, through our website or give us a call! We also understand that Unity Churches are very often looking for speakers. If you have any contacts in churches that might be interested, please feel free to give our information to them or send on the referral of a place and person, we will be happy to make the contact.

NEWS from Terry Larkin and Marj Steiner

This month finds Terry settling back into her home in Michigan! Two months away in Florida was special in so many ways. It gave me time for writing blogs, spiritual reading, quality meditation time, good sleep, great outdoor exercise and just plain relaxing and having FUN! This was a great renewal time for me!

This month finds Marj making a transition to her summer home in Eagle River, Wisconsin! We always miss our friends and family from the Chicago area, but it is a great renewal of community and friends in this amazing place of beauty. This will keep my life a bit busy for awhile. Hello Eagle River friends!

GREAT Read

This month Terry would like to share her excitement about a book that she has decided needs to be in the re-read for more information category! I will say that it is not the first re-read, I am actually not sure how many times I have read this book. It is not new, it’s TIMELESS and a wonderful book of ideas and practical suggestions how to make your life work for you.

You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay

On page 9 she has a list, Some Points of My Philosophy. I can’t list them all, but I LOVE them all. Here are some of them.

“We are each responsible for all of our experiences. Every thought we think is creating our future. The point of power is always in the present moment. It’s only a thought, and a thought can be changed. Self-Approval and self-acceptance in the now are the keys to positive changes. When we really love ourselves, everything in our life works.”

This month Marj would like to share a book we both read quite a while ago and I am now reading again. Also a book I will read soon by the same author that is in a box on its way to my house via San Francisco, via Sedona where I bought it.  Our luggage was too heavy as we were leaving our son’s house so some things had to be shipped.

Letting Go: The Pathway of Surrender by David R. Hawkins MD, Ph.D

“Letting go is like the sudden cessation of an inner pressure or the dropping of a weight.  It is accompanied by the sudden feeling of relief and lightness, with an increased happiness and freedom.  It is an actual mechanism of the mind, and everyone has experienced it on occasion.”

Letting Go is a very readable book containing the “practical techniques to remove inner blocks to happiness, love, joy, success, health, and ultimately, Enlightenment.  This book provides a mechanism for letting go of those blocks.”  The chapters address topics such as fear, anger, apathy , depression, acceptance, courage and much more…

While first visiting Sedona AZ, my husband and I found a WONDERFUL bookstore full of  spiritual literature called the Literate Lizzard.  David Hawkins was living in Sedona.  What an inspiring  conversation Marj had with the owner.  There I found a newly released book by David Hawkins!  It was an unpublished book that was found after his death in 2012.  It is called Success is for You.  This will be my next read.  The book description reads, “The secret factor – the energetic power principles underlying success – are decoded here, delivering an eternal message of possibility for us all.”  In the introduction, Hawkins uses the example of a spinning top.  “Once a top starts it spins effortlessly.”

Did you know?

That walking outside barefoot along a sandy beach, grass, dirt, or any earth surface is a totally healthy habit? Your feet have receptors on the bottom that “ground” you, pulling up the elements of the earth into your body. ( Every cell of your body is made of the same elements as the earth) No wonder walking along a beach makes us feel so good! Add the relaxing sound of the water and bird’s pulling our attention to the beauty around, and what healthy exercise that is for us! But, remember it doesn’t have to be sand either. Just 10 minutes a day can make a huge difference to our bodies. If you listen to Deepak Chopra’s interview, his explanation is wonderful. I have heard of grounding from many others, but I loved his talk about this topic.
