Consistent CHANGE…

Most of the time we actually like the consistency of our life…but, change seems to fall on our doorstep! Perhaps it’s HOPING that nothing will change that brings it? Do we actually bring change into our lives that way? Perhaps instead of viewing change as a disruptive, unwanted occurrence, what if we LIVE for change… planning on it as a valuable tool in our lives!
I was pondering on this concept recently because of changes happening around me and through me. I am experiencing a friend who is trying to make sense out of the drastic change in her life, a grandson that is starting a brand new chapter of his life in a totally new environment, a still grief stricken sister-in-law reliving the nightmares of a year ago, Marj awaiting the joy of a newborn grandson, and watching very subtle changes in my own life. I’m challenging myself to see all of these changes that effect me as a person as valuable learning experiences in shaping or let’s say reshaping my own life! I won’t go into details about any of these stories. What I am hoping to do is help myself, and perhaps you too, can find joy, peace, and tranquility IN change!
I’ve realized it’s pretty easy to fall back on past events and WONDER if I missed something along the way. But, I decided TRUSTING the Universe and asking for Divine Guidance was a far better avenue. No need for me to relive my past! Today as I was outside having a “watering meditation”…I found a beautiful butterfly following me. It was early morning and a nice cool temperature had come during the night. I needed to water my flowers so I decided today was a GOOD day for meditation through the water. It was beautiful… try it sometime! I let my mind go BLANK staring at the stream of water. It’s amazing the shapes that enveloped me and sunshine that danced through the water…right along with beautifully designed thoughts. It was incredibly quiet…and OH I LOVED the time I spent. My hydrangeas loved the water.
AND I loved the presence of this butterfly, thinking of my brother Bill and wondering if he was with me this morning. I chose not to take a photo so I did find one that was very similar. I’m pretty sure it was a painted lady that was with me. It’s getting close to that year mark when Bill died. Pictures keep popping on my phone that I took of him, so tears follow. The LOVE that will simply never die lives in my heart. It lives inside of me and I know his presence is with me often. I remembered a CARD a got…and it was from YOU Marj! It was called Advice from a BUTTERFLY. After my meditations I went to look and see if I could FIND the card. I knew I had saved it. And I knew that today was when I needed the advice…
Let your true colors show
Take yourself lightly
Look for the sweetness in life
Take time to smell the flowers
Catch a breeze
Treat yourself like a Monarch!
I know I can always trust my guides to lead to me something important for me to read and take the thoughts deep within me. I went straight to Dr. Wayne Dyer’s book, Change Your Thoughts ~ Change Your LIFE: Living the Wisdom of the Tao. My life is very full and while change doesn’t always catch me…today it is speaking to me! Change is the CONSTANT of life! This coming and going might seem to be a temporary condition, but it’s actually the ultimate constant because it never ceases. We can embrace this nature of cyclical change and THRIVE!
This way we can return to our own purpose and it’s meaning. Finding peace…it’s not an easy task, but as the phrase has become known…WE CAN DO IT!
“An ending may feel like a reason to mourn, whether it be the closing of a phase in your life, the completion of a project, the termination of a relationship, or death itself. The constancy of the cycles of life is an opportunity to return to your root, where what is and what is to be are located. The ultimate place of peace and enlightenment is in this continuous return to the nameless, placeless site of your origination.” ~ Dr. Wayne Dyer Pg. 74
I always find the ultimate understanding and peaceful existence reading the translation of The Tao ~ I hope you too will find it touches your heart on a day that is meaningful for you! Remember…The Tao is just another name for God.
16th Verse
Become totally empty. Let your heart be at peace.
Amidst the rush of worldly comings and goings, observe how endings become beginnings.
Things flourish, each by each, only to return to the Source…to what is and what is to be.
To return to the root is to find peace. To find peace is to fulfill one’s destiny. To fulfill one’s destiny is to be constant. To know the constant is called insight. Not knowing this cycle leaves to eternal disaster.
Knowing the constant gives perspective. This perspective is impartial. Impartiality is the highest nobility; the highest nobility is Divine.
Being Divine, you will be at one with the Tao. Being at one with the Tao is eternal. This way is everlasting, not endangered by physical death.
This blog is a keeper! Thank you, once again! I’ve been rereading Alan Cohen’s book on the Tao and living with the Tao, serenity reigns.🌹
