Wrap the GIFT!

Wrap the GIFT… or maybe we need to UNWRAP the Gift!

Each year we get this close to Christmas and we are busy dashing here and yonder to get all the “last minute” GIFTS bought, wrapped up and under a tree. Today I was listening to Christmas songs and thinking, YES, we do think back on memories through song and the many beautiful Christmas displays. We wonder where the time has gone over so many years leading up to this Holiday Season. As I was wrapping up my grandchildren’s presents…an interesting thought occurred to me…

The “Gift” of God’s LOVE supporting our lives..simply CANNOT be wrapped into a neat little or  GIGANTIC “box”!

I laughed  trying to picture putting all of our supposed “Spiritual knowledge” in the box~ spending a lifetime reading, piling up every book, writing down all our words and our box would still be bulging wide open each time we tried to tape it closed! The ribbon would burst and the bow would shoot up to the sky! Oh what an image.

There is an ever changing part of our soul living in this world now that is difficult to wrap our human mind around the concept. Yet, we have this desire to keep trying. When our life is awesome and going beautifully we tend to lay back and decide that just enjoying the present moment is simply good. When life is TOUGH going, we want to search more and wonder if we have missed something along the way.

I remembered a poem that was in Suzanne Giesemann’s early book, Love Beyond Words: 365 Days of Inspiration From Spirit. I used to read these messages from Sanaya every morning for a very long time. But it’s been a long time now since I pulled out the book. But, I found the poem easily…it was well marked by me. I knew that I used to go back and read and re-read it at significant times in my life..

THE PART of  YOU THAT NEVER DIES

Fly away to worlds unknown. This, my dear, is your true home. You walk awhile upon the earth, But in every moment you take birth.

You are born again each time you blink, For Life is far more than you think. Not just this time you walk as man. That’s just one blink in God’s great plan.

You live, you breathe, you blink, you see. You do it all eternally. As God’s expression, this life you live. For now to God a form you give.

So, use it well, this life you lead, This one in which as man you bleed. But know that underneath it all, You do not bleed, you cannot fall.

If all does seem a mystery, Look not back upon your history, But go within where Spirit lies- The part of you that never dies.

 

There is peace in our heart…and peace is our goal, peace on earth and peace in our hearts. Peace begins in the calm and stillness that lies within each and every one of us. The peace is ALWAYS there…but sometimes it is not at the top of an exploding present full of LIGHT! We can picture that with the help of images. But, it sits within us ready to explode with the same force that we wish we could capture each and every day. But…for myself, I’ll be realistic! How about TODAY in my heart in moments given to us in Grace and LOVE by God.  You are a LIGHT for yourself and others around you. I wish that peace upon you today as you proceed into a week full of busy days and HOPEFUL hearts full of love.

Peace be WITH you today, during your busy holiday season and always! REMEMBER…YOU are the LIGHT of the world around you and within you!
