The HUMAN Mind Creating a Self-Healing Day
Hurricanes, tornadoes, political divide, world unrest…AND..family heartache through Marj’s recent heart attack ( She’s recovering well… thank goodness!) Does the chaos come to an end? We don’t know. Do all of these things effect our physical or emotional health? Of course.
The human mind is POWERFUL and so USEFUL in our pursuit of cultivating LOVING KINDNESS. This is a big topic these days for good reason. It works for spreading love all around us, but it is also a necessary ingredient in cultivating self love.
There is something so totally unique and powerful about our human mind…and this is not simply about how the brain operates! I know beyond any doubt that there is a consciousness that operations outside of the brain. Sometimes people use the “MIND” to refer to everything that their thoughts throw at them. BUT, the mind can be changed in any minute of the day. The word “mind-boggling” is used in people’s expressions quite frequently. There is a large population of people living around us that have a strong belief in God, Jesus, or other master through various religions. They spend hours praying and yet refuse to allow their MIND to open up to any greater picture than the view of their present earthly life.
I know that at times I hesitate to talk about how important it is to cultivate loving kindness towards yourself. I’ll sometimes state simply that one way to cultivate loving kindness is to give yourself a beautiful gift of healing. Now, those of you that know me well are sure I’m going to suggest you come to a Reconnective Healing Session. Could you nourish yourself through a day of SELF healing? Most heads turn when I’ve said that, and they ask…”do you really believe we are capable of that?”
“Absolutely you can do this!” is my response. Human beings carry within themselves the seed of healing. We ALL do. Most of the time we hand over any responsibility for wellness care to medical professionals or healers…not even AWARE of the “mind-boggling” ability we have within us to heal ourselves using our MIND. It is of course beneficial to have regular visits to a doctor for serious illness, infections, broken bones, or cancer…there is a key to self-healing that can prevent too many unplanned visits to the doctor.
Healing energy can flow into us and through us when we dedicate a day once in awhile in the pursuit of wellness. We can relax and renew ourselves in a nourishing and comfortable environment…even if we chose our own home to do it. When we have a totally SINCERE desire to open ourselves to the highest realities of our physical and spiritual selves through the MIND…there lies a key to open a doorway. Believe it and you’ll SEE it.
We can use flowers, plants, nature, candlelight, spiritual literature and music to help us guide our focus into a tranquil state to start our day. Be in your PJ’s if you want. Call it what you want…the name doesn’t matter…but starting a self-healing day indulging yourself in quiet moments will offer a huge benefit as your day proceeds. It will help that sincere desire to open ourselves to the highest realities of our physical, mental and spiritual selves.
Your HUMAN MIN
D is waiting for you… remember you have a sincere wish to dedicate the DAY…to self healing. Each time a negative message flies through your mind, say NO. It’s that simple. Change the words you say to yourself into totally positive words. Wholesome intentions can transform your thoughts.
You might decide that calming activities may be the next step in facilitating a self healing day. That might include journal writing, drawing or painting, a walk into nature, or digging deeply into a spiritual text of your choosing. Give yourself permission simply relax and savor the stillness. Tune your MIND into yourself and savor the calm around you.
Don’t allow worldly distractions on this day…set this up ahead of time with any person you love and care about. LET them know your intentions for the day! Don’t worry when they are envious of your ability to engage in a day dedicated to self-healing! Assure them you’ll be back in their lives in a new and healthy way!
Choosing a relaxing type exercise might be next. Yoga lends itself well, Qi Gong engages you in beautiful ways, Tai Chi is awesome, even Walk at Home on YouTube is good. But, this time try it all by yourself and NOT in a class! Bending, stretching, and “feeling” your body’s aches and pains is good! This experience lends itself for visions created by the MIND for health and wellness. It also gives you an opportunity to allow your thoughts to develop by going within during movement rather than looking over at the person next to you in class distracting you in from inner reflection.
Allow yourself to indulge in some healthy and energetic food that you love. Be sure to keep your hydration level optimal! Maybe next you might relax in a tub, go get a massage, or take a relaxing nap on your couch! There are endless ideas that will replenish you allowing you to re-create the perfect image of health.
NOW…distill this whole concept into whatever works in your life! I know for myself, I have to allow self healing to happen in one way or another EVERY day. BUT…a SELF HEALING DAY?
