Tis’ the SEASON!

Tis the Season to be JOLLY…Fa la la la la…la la la la!  You know… our news, radio & TV are filled with Black Friday Sales, Cyber Monday Sales, Tuesday Giving and on to Christmas and the best time to buy whatever we need. We are living in a world that wants the next in the greatest tech, the greatest new toy inventions, to the newest fashion in clothes. I’m sure you have been hearing all of this as well. For myself I have my older set of grandchildren that have grown out of that place in their lives…they are looking forward to a trip to and TIME with their parents…wow…I’m impressed with that thought. Our younger set of grandchildren can still get caught up in the latest trends, but they have parents to help keep them on an even keel and KNOW the value of time doing meaningful things with family. I am feeling SO blessed!

As I ponder what all of this means in our spiritual life…we have to face some of the SAME challenges. We are still listening to all the stories, talks from mediums or psychics, reading, and we still hear some hype that we question.  But our desire is to  place in our lives the most meaningful events or happenings that are important to the REAL meaning of our temporary LIFE  here on earth at this time. There are many times when we try hard to say what we really mean on a topic.  Yet we back away gracefully realizing that this group or this individual is simply not ready to hear the types of conversations we would like to have. I have worked very hard not to let any of that CHANGE me, WORRY me, or gain anxiety that doesn’t belong to me. However, there are times when I feel like I need a little help in LIVING without EXCESS.

Everything we see, touch, or own is a gift from God, and our feelings of gratitude and generosity grow out of our deep belief in a world where we are all connected! There is such a FLOW… if we see it and recognize it. This reminds me of our connection with nature because God provides us with unlimited supplies of food, air , water, sunshine, land and beauty. There is no need for the MORE & MORE idea. It simply IS…and we enjoy it all! The world is always creating for the benefit of all…unless of course we destroy what has been given freely. I so remember Dr. Wayne Dyer using the poem by Hafiz…he used it often and it is in his book in a chapter titled “Living Without Excess”

All this time

The sun never says to the earth, “You owe Me.”

Imagine that YOU, just like the sun, “LIGHTS the WHOLE sky!” I think it all happens when we walk our life without needing the recognition for all that we do. It’s not easy to temper our ego at times, but living in a state of gratitude goes a very long way! Those affirmations of gratitude voiced outloud or silently through meditation can do wonders for us! It helps me to know that there are so many people across our country that NEED these same words to keep their lives in a place where they TOO can live…no matter where their beliefs take them. Wayne Dyer always challenged us to do something that would change our habits…here’s a challenge for you written by Dr. Wayne Dyer in his book…I LOVED the idea.

“Tomorrow morning, do something expressing your kindness to someone who will be totally surprised by your actions. E-mail someone, expressing your love and appreciation. Call a grandparent who may be feeling lonely in an assisted-living facility. Send flowers to a loved one who’s alone, or even a stranger if necessary. Note how your gratitude for another truly nurtures your Tao path, that of your ego.” Pg. 115 in CHANGE Your THOUGHTS- Change Your LIFE

We can all read this and CHANGE where and how we express our kindness to someone that we KNOW needs a LIGHT in their life. YOU are that LIGHT!
