Thoughts about Louise Hay

As I was meditating this morning, a long-time friend came to mind. Her name was Sally Ford, an artist who used the name April Ford related to her art work.  A big smile came through me and onto my face.  Thinking of her raised my energy vibration and brought focus to my heart.  I was newly married when I first met her through my husband in the late 60’s.  When Sally spoke, I had to listen carefully because I could not keep up with the spiritual wisdom she was sharing.  It caused me to contemplate a new way of thinking.  Higher energy flowed out of her into me. But, I didn’t understand it then. However, there was a knowing that she knew what she was talking about, but at that time in my life it was like listening to a foreign language.   The last time I saw her before her transition, she was in her late 80’s.  We sat next to each other at a table talking and then she put her forehead against my forehead and rather than using words, we were communicating with spiritual energy.  I was so fortunate to know someone that could teach me about my soul and the power that lies within.  It was not until my Light experience in 1996 that I really began to explore this realm and understand.

Last week, a woman named Louise Hay transitioned into the after-life at 90 years old.  She has been a guide to both Terry and me.  As with Sally, Louise’s work was calling me to expand my world, my thinking, my beliefs.  She gave us the tools to help us grow.  I did not know her personally, but her work affected me in significant ways.  We did meet Louise Hay at The Writing from the Soul Workshop, as she talked on stage in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Louise Hay had a very difficult childhood, and after marrying in the mid-50’s, divorced 14 years later. These events could have taken her into a life of despair and inaction if she had concentrated on her woes.  Instead she developed a new idea that she had heard from a church she attended as she was dealing with devastation.

“If you are willing to change your thinking, you can change your life.”

Louise Hay began to develop positive thought patterns for reversing negative self-talk and building tools for sustaining positive changes.  She developed a life-long passion for helping others in everything that she did.  After taking on new educational studies, she began counseling those who wanted to change their lives.  Her notes written in a journal about her ideas and methods, lead to her first book, Heal Your Body (1976). Next came You Can Heal Your Life (1984) which has sold more than 50 million copies worldwide. Terry read and used her book during her journey to health.  Louise developed cancer in about 1977 and used her own methods using affirmations, visualizations, nutritional cleansing, what we today call energy medicine, and coming to forgiveness for life’s challenges.  She achieved her goal, healing herself of cancer without chemo treatments.  She went on to write many more books and created the publishing company called Hay House.  Balboa is a part of Hay House Publishing. Terry and I published our book with Balboa.  Her company has actively supported authors that found it difficult to get published because of topics such as NDE, the connection between science, spirituality and God, and alternative healing.  She was “early in the game.”

You have heard Terry and I talk so many times about coincidences.  The date of Louise’s death was an amazing coincidence.  Wayne Dyer was a well-known author and speaker working with Hay House to provide many books, CDs, on line courses, lectures, and workshops for those of us who are working to expand our spiritual truths, concepts, and practices.  Louise Hay made the transition that we call death exactly two years to the day, August 30, after Wayne Dyer’s death.  Both died peacefully in their sleep.

Louise Hay has changed so many people’s lives, directly and indirectly.  She was very actively supporting spiritual growth when no one was talking about such things in the main stream.  She began a movement of self-help that is very alive and active today.

Let Louise Hay’s own word’s speak:

“Life is really simple.  What we give out, we get back.”

“What we think about ourselves becomes the truth for us.”

“The thoughts we think, the words we speak create our experience.”

“Work on doing what is right for you and getting in touch with your inner voice.  Your inner wisdom knows the right answers for you.”

“In the infinity of life where I am, all is perfect, whole, and complete.”
