Grounding Through LOVE

Grounding through LOVE

Recently life has brought new challenging experiences. I’m sure mine are different from yours and yet all of us have difficult times simply living life in a body on the planet earth! For myself, it is incredibly difficult to watch the man you’ve loved and been married to for 52 years deal with extremely difficult health issues. As I experienced my life turning upside down, I found it more and more challenging to make sure I took time to check in with my spiritual self. The image of the deep roots of a tree reminded me how grounded I CAN be in LOVE to enhance my life experiences.

This poem channeled through Suzanne Gieseman helped me totally re-focus my energy. I hope her words might touch your heart today as well.

Sing a song of happiness

For all is quite in order.

There will be no lack or pain when you go across the Border.

Heaven’s what you call this place

Where naught but beauty does abound.

But what you fail to see is all the beauty now around.

You tend to focus on the things

That trouble you the most

Instead of giving focus to your great and mighty Host.

The things of God are perfect;

The things of man not quite.

To know perfection is your task-

To see the world with brand new sight.

What’s Real is what’s eternal.

Your spirit is like that.

So put your fears and doubts aside

And know that heaven’s where you’re at.

I know without an ounce of doubt that my soul is forever perfect and it is so helpful for me to remember I am both human and spirit all at the same time. I’m a spiritual being here and now. The thought goes through the lenses of LOVE because love grounds us to our own existence.

I know that love is both a force and an action. I am consciousness expressing myself, but there are times when my actions have it all totally upside down! It is so easy to fall into and yet it reminds me to ground myself in LOVE.  Many of our fellow human beings have buried their conscienceness so deeply they really NEED the rules created by others to exist. When we are grounded in LOVE , we begin by loving ourselves first so we CAN show and express the love for others. There are emotions that we simply need to break apart just like our ice has been breaking apart in the the warmer days.

Our earth through nature provides the framework of grounding both spiritually, mentally, physically, and emotionally. There is actually a practice called grounding. I remember well Dr. Wayne Dyer talking about his practice of going barefoot so that his feet touched the earth at every opportunity whether in grass, sand, water or dirt. I took the time at the beginning of this week in the few sunshine days and walked barefoot in the grass! EARTH provides an energy field that with our feet we can simply gather the energy into our body, decreasing inflammation that exists throughout. It’s kind of like the breath of life that is so critical to living…we gather the energy that sits beneath our feet every day as we walk through our lives. Our feet have receptors that help pull this energy into our bodies.

Healing of the bodily systems can benefit from this practice of grounding. The definition of grounding is simply touching skin to earth to experience grounding benefits. This might sound simple, automatic even, but it’s  sometimes a rare experience for people. In our cold climates or cities full of concrete, adding this practice to our life can add wonderful benefits. I was excited to try a “grounding mat” after a close friend reminded me of the practice. I will let you know later how this is all going because I now have one under my mattress pad on my bed! Researchers have begun to publish their findings that are very promising. Here are some of the benefits that proponents share with us.  I decided to give it a try. The benefits sounded so very appealing right now!

  • Improve sleep and fall asleep quickly
  • Improve blood pressure and promote blood circulation
  • Relieve muscle tension and pain
  • Reduce stress and soothe nerves
  • Radiation protection
  • Anti-static

Peer deeply into the darkness and we see the LIGHT. The trials and tribulations of life get lifted into a space within our heart that helps the force of LOVE move into our bodies.
