Self CARE…Time Away!

There are times in our life, when TIME AWAY will provide the self care that is needed. I’m sure that all of you have experienced that feeling at one time or another. Marj and I are GOING on vacation. We want you to know that we think about all you so very often and send LOVE, CARING, COMPASSION and time away for you too, when life presents the just right opportunity.

Our family is having a reunion of all 5 of us as children in the same family along with our spouses. There were times recently when I was not sure Doug and I would be able to join that dream we created along with the family. We are both headed to Hawaii this week and as you read this post we will be there together.

I will leave you with a PRAYER…one that the Dalai Lama put out awhile back and I loved the message. We hope it inspires you as much as it has us…and then we will see you again on Friday, March 10! However, watch…we might get inspired from Hawaii to post prior to that date. LOVE as always from both of us.

This prayer was written by Shantideva, a Buddhist monk of the Mahayana tradition who lived around 700 AD. He was a devoted practitioner who authored the Bodhicaryavatara or Bodhisattva way of LIFE.  It is said that His Holiness, the Dalai Lama considers this test to be THE source for developing altruism in your character and the “Spirit of Awakening”.

Bodhisattva Prayer for Humanity

” May I be a guard for those who need protection

A guide for those on the path

A boat, a raft, a bridge for those who wish to cross the flood

May I be a lamp in the darkness

A resting place for the weary

A healing medicine for all who are sick

A vase of plenty, a tree of miracles

And for the boundless multitudes of living beings

May I bring sustenance and awakening

Enduring like the earth and sky

Until all beings are freed from sorrow

And all are awakened.”
