Letting GO!

There is something so uniquely positive when we let GO and make room in our lives for something new and greater to move in. Here are just a couple examples in my life right now. You might be able to identify in some ways in your own life.

Letting GO…

  • I have PILES of FILES…and I need to let GO of many. Most all of them contain notes and pages of wonderful webinars I listened to, trainings I have attended, and little bits of pure gold thinking I wanted to hang on to. UNTIL…the pile is too great and there’s no room for new ones. Instead of golden nuggets, I find I’ve already assimilated this thinking into my mind and I no longer need those notes!
  • I have closets full of old clothes and shoes that I keep thinking, “I might NEED  someday!” I now realize someone else could wear and enjoy them because I have more than I need.
  • I collect plants like they are badges of honor. I LOVE having them in my house in the bleak winter knowing I can move them outside to enjoy in the summer. But, even they outgrow their container, start yellowing, dropping leaves,  and desperately searching for more room to flourish. Yes, I finally spent an afternoon trying to stay warm in my garage with a heater to save them from the demise of being neglected.
  • I have shelving units so full of books collecting dust I can’t find space for cherished new ones. Why am not giving them away for others to enjoy?

Letting GO…of memories? I firmly believe I need to let go!  For myself these cherished material possessions should be easy to clear away. I will feel good about less clutter in my house! But I have a feeling that the awareness  of the need to declutter, is what is helping me remember a very different type of LETTING GO.

My mind is FULL of interesting corners that perhaps need dusting off.  My brain wants to hang on to memories that are supporting beliefs that are no longer in my life at all! This past weekend I was listening to an IANDS Symposium that was exploring the extraordinary new research centered on  what NDE’s (Near Death Experiences) , STE’s (like Marj’s Light Experience), OBE’s (Out of Body Experiences)  and ADC’s (After Death Communications ) are revealing about the relationship between the  mind and the brain! I was astounded by the volume of the research taking place and the unbelievably wisdom filled minds that are making it all happen. So MANY accounts of finding the same unconditional love of God I found, but in an a variety of ways.

The researchers were showing that science is realizing that consciousness is NOT confined to the brain itself. I learned that many years ago, but now it is a knowing. Their research has helped me validate my experience of thinking outside of my body. The research shared is pretty complicated and these men and women with their PhD’s have their hands full convincing main stream science colleagues. But, they all strongly agree that the door is opening.

We ALL can help that door open wider by letting go…dusting out  the corners of our minds and speaking our truths as we know them in the most kind, compassionate and loving way we know how. I do believe we are being nudged by our own soul’s growth to let go now!

I had one of those moments where I was deciding what to read for morning meditation and my copy of the Tao TE Ching(pronounced Dow Deh Jing)  by Lao Tzu literally fell off my shelf at me. So, I decided to open it to a random page and read.  In case you aren’t familiar, Lao Tzu was an ancient Chinese philosopher from the era of 500 BC, writing about GOD. (Tao) I am fascinated when I  think of ancient “wisdom” that is considered the “art of living” was perhaps already known long ago. This version is beautifully illustrated and  translated by Stephen Mitchell. You can click on the picture to connect to Amazon and read a little more about it.

“Every being in the universe is an expression of the Tao. It springs into existence, unconscious, perfect, free, takes on a physical body, lets circumstances complete it. That is why every being spontaneously honors the Tao.  The Tao gives birth to all beings, nourishes them, maintains them, cares for them, comforts them, protects them, takes them back to itself without possessing, acting without expecting, guiding without interfering, That is why love of the Tao is in the very nature of things.”

Do you feel the unconditional love? Do you hear the words “without possessing”, “guiding without interfering”…the GOD that is pure love that we speak of. I could add many words  Jesus said to us that were the same. But, I had found  similar words you may not have heard spoken just a month ago. I hope you can click on this photo with the words to make it large to read or print. ENJOY and ponder the meaning.

You have likely heard of an incredibly holy man in the Buddhist Traditions that recently passed into the ever life. His name was Thich Nhat Hanh. I have always enjoyed his words of wisdom about life once I had heard his name from a very dear friend! He was a Vietnamese Buddhist monk, Zen Master and global activist, always advocating for peace among all people.  He was  spreading his global messages of mindfulness, compassion and nonviolence. He died in January, 2022 in Vietnam at the age of 95.

I followed a few of the happenings following his death. I found these words that he left for the world before his death. I’m sure he’s one of the masters now in the life beyond, whose wisdom will live on in the hearts of ALL of us…remember we are all ONE.  I’m visualizing this totally awesome reunion he must be sharing with Jesus, Buddha, and other masters as they unite in soul form.

It is in LETTING GO of limiting beliefs that we can rejoice, embrace life and choose happiness, health and LOVE in all our experiences. Leave the lower vibrational emotions such as worry and anxiety in the dust.

“YOU are enough, YOU ARE loved, just as you are… dusty brain and all!”

  1. Great blog! I love the references to Thich Nhat Hanh. Dear man. I think his quiet manner is one of the main attributes of his charisma and wisdom. Another teacher to emulate❤️

    • Thanks Mary. I absolutely agree, Thich Nhat Hanh is a teacher to emulate. I am sure his wisdom will live on and hopefully someone continues his daily words! There is so much there, and in our world right now his quiet manner and wisdom are so needed.
