Inner Critic

Inner Critic
I try to start out each day with lots of positive statements like I AM Light, I AM Love, I AM joy, and I AM strength. And, I try to end my meditation time with words of gratitude for all that is good in my life. I have SO many reasons to be thankful and that helps me realize just how important relationships are in our life.
Each day presents itself with so many opportunities to see all of this in action! But, there are certainly other ways for my mind to slip into that part of me that I am in some way scrutinizing the small things that I’m less than excited about. The “Inner Critic” that somehow lives in the recesses of my mind is active! Sometimes I just have to laugh and say…oh well, that is the human side of me.
I KNOW so very well that I need to tend to the energy that goes through my body! I am totally responsible for all of it and there should be a balance in all I do both physically and mentally. I sometimes feel very grounded, but when my energy seems low, a simple walk out into the grass in my bare feet might just do the trick! This morning I was trying to remember all of the ways that I have found the spiritual energy that lives inside of me to WAKE UP and join that oh so human mind I have. You might be able to relate to this.
Just when I needed it most, I had an article come to me from Daily OM that was titled Tending Your Energy Field. Many of the techniques they mentioned were very familiar to me. I tend to use them on a daily basis like deep breathing very often during the day, stretching to renew my muscles in areas of my body that feel tense, FLOW movements like dance, or going for a walk out in nature. But, they also made sure we remembered that we want to be able to fill ourselves with love and light from within. I’ve always known that to be true.
One suggestion they gave that I thought was sort of new and interesting:
“Envision a ball of light in your solar plexus area just above your belly button. Allow it to build there, growing stronger and stronger. Eventually, allow the light to expand throughout the rest of your body until it fills your entire physical and energetic field.’
I remember hearing Sara Landon saying that the “greatest privilege in all the Universe is to be a being of light!” I know from my NDE experiences that we first and foremost ARE a being of light! WE are also a being of LOVE. And so I hoped to simply wipe out that inner critic that pops into my mind sometimes! I wonder if you are able to relate to this feeling sometimes. So I decided to try it out this afternoon!
There was a piece of anger in me that my internet has been down all day long on a day I planned to write! So, of course I was allowing this into my space instead of trusting the gifts I have to simply relax and BE. So…I stopped this writing in a document seems how we have no internet. I walked outside barefoot, walked in the grass, the sand, and the water out in back…picturing the light in my solar plexus growing larger and larger. Pretty soon I was looking at my own flowers in a new way. I had been feeling like summer was taking its toll on my flowers. Yes, that inner critic that creeps right in. Did I water too little, did I water too much, did I remember to fertilize? But today…a new beauty was revealing itself and I was stopping to allow my light to simply take over, sprinkled with lots of LOVE for the beauty around me.
Then when I came in the house…my brain lit up too. Terry, use your phone as a personal hot spot…and here I am writing ON our website! AND…I could place my online order to Meijers for the groceries I had planned! My LIGHT and LOVE has to be here with Doug and what a gift! That’s my gratitude that simply emerged and I love it! Imagine the creativity we can generate when we allow that LOVE and LIGHT to emerge from within to help our day in a very practical way!
Maybe you might like to give it a try! Oh beautiful, the Sixth Dimension full of possibilities and opportunities to create! That’s where we can be in this very human experience we are having! Imagine doing this often! I think I WILL!
