Life’s LOVE Song

Life’s LOVE Song
Sometimes are there times when a certain song simply catches our heart. WORDS can also do the same. We know that when that happens our soul
has touched on something very meaningful to our journey here on earth in this lifetime. The WEB of Perfection is shining around our lives every single day.We can picture ourselves as the spider right in the middle of that beautiful web the spider built in our yard one year. As I wrote about last week, I have found angels in my life through my husband’s and my journey alongside Hospice to help us. Of course it is not just Hospice, there are people, happenings and experiences that keep coming along in my life. I picture a tug on that web for every experience.
Marj is here with us now helping for this week during a difficult time. It has been incredibly helpful. She brought along an article that I found fascinating and has really the same message brought back from my NDE, “LOVE IS ALL THERE IS!” I’ve come to realize over many years that ONE sentence is so complex with deep meaning that there are many related topics we could talk about! Richard Rohr puts out daily meditations for an organization called the Center for Action and Contemplations. (cac.org) But this particular article was called, Love Song of the Soul. It appears that it is Richard Rohr’s title of a recent Daily Meditation.
“Everything we do, we do for a reason, but only love is its own reason…Love and love alone is the substance of reality. Everything else is smoke and mirrors, really.”
They describe how the Song of Songs in the Old Testament expresses the soul’s longing for God as well as God’s longing for us. Richard Rohr quoted a guest faculty member, Mirabai Starr as saying, “The Song of Songs is our soul’s quintessential blueprint.” He talks about how we feel that longing, or yearning deep in our bones, that we came from Love and our wish to return to Love. He says that the desire beyond all other desires is to return to Love. He also talks about how that spiritual longing is often expressed or mirrored in our human relationships. All of us have experiences that have been playing around in that field of love and in fact some of us have been pretty CLOSE to that love in our human “LOVE” life. Is it close to REAL? Our love for each other enhances our life and makes our lives rich in meaning.
Song of Songs in the old Testament is not that familiar to me. After looking it up I see that it is also called the Song of Solomon which I have heard of.. But in my search I also found that it was made into a book of Hebrew poetry that celebrated intense, passionate love and desire between a man and a woman. Likely all of this topic has been debated, written about, and celebrated for thousands of years. LOVE…yes, LOVE IS ALL THERE IS! At least as we navigate this lifetime and beyond. But, I do think it is also celebrated in the every day…beautiful happenings in our lives through friends and family and acts of kindness.
Today was one such experience and I thought I would share it with you. I sang in the church choir for LOTS of years. But, I haven’t been able to do that now for several years. There is a couple that we knew quite well for various reasons who are still in our choir. She has come to visit Doug in the hospital & they are always so kind and caring when we see them. Just today, she called and asked if she and her husband could come by to see Doug. I thought…wow, how sweet. They not only came and spent time, but as a couple they sang to us! The words were very meaningful as well as their presence with us. Something touched my heart drew me to tears. These acts of kindness are demonstrations of a true and vital LOVE Song. The LOVE Song of our LIFE.
